NorthWest Mini Moto - 24-Hour

Tri City Kart Club · Spiva Racing Team · Honda CRF150R #711

Sep 27–28, 2025

24 hours · 1,307 laps · 4th Open Mini

Twenty-four hours around Tri City Kart Club on the Honda CRF150R. A full day and night of racing, 1,307 laps, 4th in Open Mini, and the Director's Choice Award on the way out.

Seven of us this time: Alex Taylor, Ben Freiberger, Garrick Fulbright, Gavin Soderholm, Hannah Johnson, John Gessner, and me. A 24-hour only works if everyone takes a turn and the crew keeps the bike alive between them.

Le Mans start to get it rolling, then into the rotation: stints through the afternoon, into a pink sunset, and on through the night under the lights.

The race nearly ended early. We found a hole in the engine case, and rather than pack up, we JB-welded it back together overnight and sent it back out. The patch held to the finish.

1,307 laps for 4th in Open Mini, behind Red Rocket and Subversive. The crew's persistence got noticed, and we took home the Director's Choice Award for 2025. Finishing a 24-hour is its own reward; finishing one you nearly lost overnight is better.

Thanks to David Price and the NorthWest Mini Moto volunteers for putting it on. No race is easy to host, but a 24-hour endurance is beyond herculean.
